Trail70 Trial du Roide (25) le 26 mars 2017
Spring had arrived and it was time to take the dust from our darlings. Walt (BSA), me (TLR) and Daniel Kronenberg (TLR Repsol) headed towards Roide, just 10 minutes behind the Swiss frontier at Reclère. When we arrived, weather was perfect and we greeted other Swiss riders like the Aebi brothers, the Liechti Brother, Ernest & Annemarie and Edy.

We were riding in a team an pointet ourselves. To warm up, there were 2 zones in the dry river bet.
Then the No 3 with the famoues little water falls, still dry but tricky.
Followed by a nasty No 4 with a difficult hill climber after an S.
Number 5 was in around trees, up and down, but with some concentration without problems.
Kroni in No 8 | little Scottland |
a red Honda in the woods | |
Walti | riding the Repsol |
After 10 min ride on the forrest roads, we arrived at the "cave" section, a mythique atmosphere. There was a double step tpo be masted for the blue line, needed some brave acceleration and will to pass, followd by loose S curbes up hill.
No 7 and 8 were in a river, a bit like Scottish, long with moving stones, easy to miss a door or make a dab.
No 9 near the car park had an entry rock, followed by some narrow curbes with a rock, then a long 30m hill climb, which needed again a brave heart and a dedicated line, not to hit the rocks and trees in the climb. Alternatively, you could also ride an S instead of the hiller, but risked some dabs in the loos S. I chooese the hiller and my Honda reved like a roaring cat up the hill with zero.
No 10 was some curbes on racines, but with concentration also a zero.
Here some youtube clips:
I lost 6, 4, 3 dabs in the 3 rounds, summing up to 13. Would have revarded a top 3 in the National blue line. I learned, that Fred on his Cotton made it below 10 and Guy on the Cub at 12.
Dani and the Aebis lost some more marks, but all had at least one very good round.
We enjoyed a great Sunday and hope to comming back again.
Un grand merci au team trail 70.
