LES 2 JOURS DE SOULTZ
6 et 7 JUIN 2015
The Moto Club 68 was again calling for its great Twinshock trials in the woods above "route des vins", de Alsace vine route. This is always a highlight for me, as I like the atmosphere in woods near the trainings ground of MC 68 Soultz. After 2 hours driving, I arrived on Saturday morning. The Stampflis and Jo were already there, keeping a nice place for my car to park next to their campers. There were many campers from France, Belgium, also UK, few Germans.
The weather was fine on the 2 days, with a thunderstorm on Saturday evening after the trial. But the earth dried quickely and Sunday was no problem to ride (except maybe the zone 2, where the rocks got muddy and slippery.
The start was at the usual place in the wood, with a buvette, grill and a Flamchueche oven. This is always the dream: After a nice day's trial you could enjoy the hot Alsace Flammchueche out of the oven with a cool beer!

The zones were easy because it was dry. I still made 16 points in the 12 zones in the first round. As I got used to the soil (and was not missing a "flèche"), I came back from the 2nd round with only 2 points lost. Not bad, but also my "new" light Honda TLR 250 was really perfect and easy to ride. The new clutch was a big improvment. But there was the green Kawasaki boy named Jack to beat with only 16 marks.
