Ettore Baldini

With deep sadness I got to know, that Ettore Baldini is no more joining our Classic Trials. A heart attack took him suddenly away on January 2017.

I met Ettore in May 2012 at the 2 days Trial Campo Canavese.

I talked to Ettore about the Swiss Alpentrial World Round 1977, when I first saw him riding on the Bultaco. At that time, I was 13 years old teenager and was admiring the big names like Lampkin, Vesterinen, Rathmell. I also remember a difficult exit from a river, muddy due to rain. Giovanni Tosco on the Ossa and Ettore Baldini on the Bultaco both managed to exit with 3 point, applauded by the crowd.
Ettore had a good Ranking of 15th at this event, meaning there were only 14 riders in the whole world better than him!

Ettore gave me his business card and we exchanged a few e-mails, mostly xmas greetings.

We met again in October 2012 at the Mont Ventoux Classic Trial in Provence. I took some videos in this great scenery, among them Ettore.

Ettore Baldini on Bultaco. I first saw Ettore in 1977 as a 13 year old spectator in the WTC round Alpentrial Ibergeregg, Switzerland on a Bultaco	Joe Wallmann on Bultaco. Joe was once the leader for one day on the Scottish! and had some top 10 rankings in the WTC in the late 70'ies
